The course will feature speakers with direct experience of managing issues surrounding Novel Psychoactive Substances; seizures of drugs by the police and subsequent identification, with geographical variations and distribution; a case presentation of a HMP detainee with a drug-induced psychosis and therapeutic challenges; an example of a police & public health partnership to address the issue surrounding ethylphenidate in the Lothian region; and clinical guidance regarding the management of suspected NPS use.
This course will be suitable for clinicians, mental health nursing staff, and psychologists.
